Another year has gone past and I haven't done an awful lot of creating! New Year = new resolutions ... to create more as always! I did manage to get this lovely beaded village by threadabead made just in time for Christmas.
Each building was so satisfying and relaxing to make :)
Plus I was able to make this lovely e-Christmas card :)
This set is another I made a couple of years ago and am just having some time to blog and list it now. I love the connection of old and new (ancestral meets polymer clay!) in this hunter gatherer pendant set I made.
I have finally had some time to list some beadies on my Folksy site. The first listing is those chili beads I made a couple of years ago. Yep with all the moving around and resetting up craft spaces there hasn't been an awful lot going on in the creation department and it has taken me this long to get going (and I might just stop again soon - eek)!
I don't think it is any great secret that FloRae has been seriously without her Flo lately. There's a mixture of things causing this, probably the biggest culprit being a real lack of time. The latest I have got lately to doing anything with clay is sorting out my box of Premo! Well, sorting out the little blocks into piles of similar colours - they are still all over my floor! Well tonight I chanced upon a spot of inspiration and a bit of time. I bought some Animal Muppet headphones a few years ago and although well loved and cared for, they eventually gave up the ghost. The little heads were just too cute to throw away though :).
So I seem to have also lost all my sunglasses in the recent house move, so I purchased a few budget pairs.
And I think you have probably guessed the rest :) Yep I put the 2 together to create these fun, unique specs! Get me - instant nerd!
When I try a new method or style with polymer clay I like to create several beads or pendants at that time and keep working with that style. Now I am putting together collections of the various styles and making them available to buy online :) This collection is now available in my Etsy shop. I love the pink wirework imitation rose quartz pendant.
Also this collection is now available in my Folksy shop. My favourite here is probably the cupcake pendant.
I finally had some time to do some clay recently - see my previous post on pastel goth/Halloween for the results. I cooked my polymer clay pieces in my loaf tin of baking soda/sodium bicarbonate and for the first time the soda seemed to "cook".
Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. I love coming up with a costume idea and setting about getting it all together. Plus any opportunity to make jewellery is always well received :) This year was no different. Someone had recently mentioned "pastel goth" to me. Without seeing what this look was, I just knew I wanted to be one. I googled pastel goth later that day and sure enough I was instantly in love with the look. I had my Halloween costume idea - full pastel goth! I had many of the clothes already but I purchased a lovely cosplay wig. To complete the look I made a gothic tiara with polymer horns and bloodied roses and fixed these onto a tiara band with some mini spikes.
I made mini goth cupcake earrings and made bunnie's dreams come true when I made him into a unicorn.
I also used an ice cream polymer necklace which I already had. The result? I love it! I'm a convert.
